STOTT PILATES TEACHER TRAINING
We have partnered with STOTT PILATES® to host teacher training in our beautiful and fully equipped studio in the centre of Melbourne CBD. STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Moira and Lindsay Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over three decades refining the acclaimed STOTT PILATES method of exercise. The refined method resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and rehabilitation — making it one of the safest and most effective methods.
Our Lead Instructor Trainer, Michelle Scott hails from Sydney, Australia. She became a fully certified STOTT PILATES Instructor in 2003, and later that year went on to become an Instructor Trainer. She is now a Lead Instructor Trainer for Merrithew™ specializing in STOTT PILATES full repertoire. Over the past 14 years, she has taught hundreds of STOTT PILATES courses and workshops in the US, Canada, Brazil, Hong Kong, New Zealand, the Philippines, the US and the UAE. STOTT PILATES® PRENATAL WORKSHOP

This 6-hour workshop, lead by STOTT PILATES® Lead Instructor Trainer Michelle Scott, outlines all the important considerations for working safely with pregnant clients. You'll come away with an understanding of the physiological changes throughout all three trimesters, as well as a catalogue of repertoire modifications incorporating Matwork, Stability Ball and Flexband exerciser, and Reformer. Appropriate exercise adaptations will be explored, as well as programming concepts for teaching small groups and private clients. This workshop will provide you with strategies for building new pre-natal programs as well as enhancing those already in progress. Anatomical and physiological changes, risk factors and movement considerations will also be considered with an eye to providing a safe and effective workout throughout all trimesters.

STOTT PILATES® CUEING AND MODIFICATIONS FOR POSTURAL ISSUES WORKSHOP

Clients with specific postural issues require specialized programming to effectively realign the skeleton and re-balance muscles. This reformer-based workshop reviews exercises from the Essential Reformer repertoire and explores how these movements can be modified for each individual. Specific postural habits are discussed with particular focus paid to muscular imbalances associated with aspects of the following postures: kyphosis-lordosis, sway back and flat back. How to recognize and target lengthened, weak, shortened or tight muscles due to postural habits, what exercises to select and appropriate cues and modifications are also examined.
